Operating options
The operating devices need to be compatible with the motors so for ease of understanding we have identified the options from both Somfy and Louvolite.
All these operating devices do not require wiring to go to them.
Somfy
- Situo 1 - This allows a simple operation of one Blind to operate.
- Situo 5 - This gives the operator the option of five separate channels. So, you could operate five Blinds individually and when all channels selected all the blinds will operate at a press of a button.
- Smoove Wireless Wall Switch - This is usually located adjacent to the product. The design of the Switch allows you to choose the centre and trim colours to match your room décor.
Louvolite
- OneTouch 1 Channel - This Remote allows a simple operation of one blind.
- OneTouch 6 Channel - This Remote with six channels allows up to six blinds to be operated.
- OneTouch 16 Channel - This Remote with sixteen channels allows up to sixteen blinds to be operated throughout the property.
Feel free to visit our Showroom in Crowthorne, Berkshire to see the options and hear how quietly the motors operate.
Motors
We offer a range of motors from leading suppliers Somfy, Louvolite and Lutron.
One of the most common problems we have is from customers who have previously had motorised blinds installed only for the client to advise they are a lot noisier compared to the ones in our showroom.
It is important to see and hear the motors operating prior to purchasing. This will ensure you purchase the correct motor for the product and how you wish to operate the product.
We offer a range of motors from Somfy and Louvolite
Somfy Motors
Somfy are regarded as one of the world leaders in motorisation for the blind and awning industry having a wide range of motors and methods of control.
For roller blinds we usually supply the sonesse motor. This is one of the quietest motors if not the quietest motor and has many options for controlling the blind.
For small size roller blinds that are not convenient to install a mains power supply we offer a battery wireless motor and for non accessible areas we offer the battery wireless motor with a small solar panel.
Louvolite Motors
Louvolite are a major UK supplier of material and components to the industry and have recently introduced a range of motors designed to offer motorisation to a larger audience that is more cost effective.
Naturally with a more cost effective motor the size of blinds is generally reduced and therefore looking to the domestic installation although some of the motors are suitable for commercial applications.
The magic wand product is a fantastic breakthrough. A wand is attached to the motor giving ease of access to operate the controls. The power to this blind is from batteries neatly out of view of the product. The wand is only available for roller blinds.
Another alternative is a motor that can be recharged via a small charger supplied. Ideal for locations that can not have a power supply that may have a higher frequency of operation.
Mains powered motors are also available from Louvolite for the larger blinds.
Lutron Motors
Lutron motors are probably the quietest motors available. For most applications they shall operate from standard batteries neatly designed into the blind with easy access to replace them without the need of removing the blind.
Operation of the blind can be by a wireless wall switch or remote saving the installation cost of wiring and the redecorating together with the inconvenience.
